joseph May-Dessmann

Joseph trained in classical voice and theatre at the Sir Zelman School of Music at Monash University. Studying under the guidance of teachers such as Susan-ann Walker and Philip Gould among others. Joseph also headlined the 2016 Monash Cabaret Festival with his 'ridiculously funny' show "Well, So Far..."

Joseph went on to study musical theatre with teachers and industry professionals such as Tyran Parke, Johanna Allen, Natalie Gamsu, Tobias Madden, Stephen Grey and briefly studied voice with Barnaby Reiter.

As a pianist, Joseph has accompanied VCE students and singers in exams and performances since 2016. He has also worked with singers on cuts and piano tracks for auditions and performances. Joseph can be contacted for accompaniment and assistance with audition cuts for singers and performers around Melbourne, VIC.

Although Joseph has always written music, he went down an unexpected road when he took a break from theatre and studied law at Monash University. Now, Joseph is back to his roots and is dedicated to making new Australian theatre. His first production, Jack Frost: a new musical had its first staged reading thanks to Home Grown Australia's Grassroots Initiative.
